Our Initiatives
Our organization is dedicated to advocating for the rights and empowerment of Afghan and Iranian women and girls, focusing on three key initiatives.

First, we work tirelessly to have gender apartheid recognized as a crime against humanity on a global scale. In collaboration with the Canadian government and international partners, we aim to bring this issue to the forefront of global human rights discussions.​
Second, we are committed to to create a comprehensive support system for newcomer Afghan and Iranian women in Canada, empowering them with the skills and connections needed to secure meaningful employment as Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Early Childhood Educators (ECEs).
By fostering economic independence, the initiative seeks to enable these women to achieve long-term stability, actively contribute to their communities, and serve as inspiring role models for others.
Third, we support and conduct academic research on the experiences of migrated Afghan and Iranian women and youth in Canada.
By providing valuable information and data, we contribute to the development of informed policies that can better serve these communities and foster a more inclusive society.
Our Story
Femina Alliance was born out of a pressing need to support the courageous women and youth of Afghanistan and Iran as they face unprecedented challenges. The inception of our foundation came in response to two significant and heart-wrenching events. The return of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Mahsa Amini movement in Iran. These events not only highlighted the severe restrictions and dangers faced by women and youth in these regions but also underscored the urgent need for a supportive network to help them overcome these adversities and build a brighter future back home and in Canada.
